Director, PSC, LLP Member & Trustee Identity Verification: Stay Compliant with Companies House

Under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023, all company directors, people with significant control (PSCs), members of LLPs, and trustees of certain entities (such as academy trusts registered as charitable companies) must verify their identity with Companies House.
These changes are designed to improve corporate transparency and help prevent the misuse of UK companies.

Who needs to verify?
- All current and future company directors
- All PSCs (people with significant control)
- All LLP members (partners)
- Trustees of any trust registered at Companies House (e.g., academy trusts)
If you are a director of more than one company, a single verification will cover all your appointments.
When do you need to act?
New appointments: From Autumn 2025, verification is required before appointment.
Existing directors, PSCs, LLP members, and trustees: Must complete verification by Autumn 2026.
Why is this important?
Failure to verify your identity means:
- We will not be able to file your accounts, confirmation statements, or other statutory documents.
- Your company risks financial penalties and possible removal from the register.
- Your ability to trade and maintain good standing will be compromised.
How can you verify your identity?
You have two options:

As an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP), we can manage the entire verification process on your behalf for £100 + VAT per director, trustee, member, or PSC.

If you choose this route, you must ensure that all relevant individuals (directors, trustees, members, or PSCs) have been validated, and provide us with your verification code promptly so we can update your company records and continue to act on your behalf.
