James Allen is a senior tax manager at Streets Innovation. James has developed a strong passion for supporting innovation within the R&D tax sector, contributing to the UK’s ambition of becoming a global leader in technology and innovation. During this time, he has honed his technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills, successfully submitting a wide range of R&D claims across industries including automotive, engineering, pharmaceuticals, and high-level cyber security.
James has a proven track record of delivering significant tax benefits and strategic planning for a diverse client base from small businesses to multinational FTSE 100 and 250 companies. His experience has reinforced the importance of a tailored approach to each claim, ensuring that every client receives a bespoke service aligned with their unique operations and goals.
He works closely with HMRC, regularly corresponding to resolve corporation tax issues and respond to enquiries related to R&D claims. This hands-on experience has deepened his understanding of the complexities of the R&D tax landscape.
Currently studying towards his Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification, James has already passed his written ATT and Awareness exams. His growing expertise in the relevant legislation, including the CIRDS guidelines, the definition of R&D for tax purposes, the Finance Acts, and the Corporation Tax Act 2009, enables him to navigate complex tax environments with confidence and precision.
