Apprenticeships

We offer a number of apprenticeships each year for people who wish to undertake the AAT qualification.

Launch your career in accounting with a paid apprenticeship

Looking for a career that combines earning while learning? As an apprentice with us you’ll gain a respected professional qualification, valuable real-world experience and a salary that grows as you progress—all while being part of a team that values trust, collaboration and personal growth.

During your apprenticeship you’ll work full time as part of our team, developing hands-on skills that employers value. We fund your studies towards the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification and you’ll attend college on a day-release basis. This means you can study and qualify without the burden of student debt. Along the way, you’ll be encouraged to take initiative, challenge yourself and find smarter ways to deliver results, preparing you for a career that goes beyond simply meeting expectations.

In just two to three years, you’ll complete your AAT and be ready to take the next step towards becoming a Chartered or Certified Chartered Accountant . Your AAT qualification not only opens doors to higher-level study but also provides exemptions to fast-track your journey. Throughout this period, your contribution will be valued, your pay and career prospects will grow with each milestone and you’ll learn to take pride in the quality of work you deliver.

Mentoring and support, every step of the way

At Streets, our apprentices’ benefit from a dedicated team to guide you through your studies. From expert advice on professional qualifications to helping you navigate the process and stay on track, our team ensures you have the knowledge and encouragement to succeed. With regular check-ins, mentoring and practical guidance, you’ll gain confidence and the skills to thrive, while experiencing the strength of collaboration and support from across the firm.

We’re looking for committed and motivated individuals with at least GCSE grades 6–9 (or equivalent) in Maths and English and 120 UCAS Points, who are hardworking, trustworthy and eager to contribute as part of a team.

In 2015 I had the opportunity to gain a week’s work experience with Streets, in the Lincoln Office. At the time I was 16, studying the first year of my A-levels and feeling quite overwhelmed and lost with how the next few years of my education or how the start of my career would look. In that week, I found exactly what I was looking for. Streets offered me the opportunity to join the firm as a full time Trainee Accountant, with immediate effect. Since then, there has been support in every meaning of the word, full emotional, professional and financial support through my AAT studies, through my studies and through the development and growth of my professional and personal life. From that scary first morning in August 2015, all the way to today, Streets have given me nothing but opportunity and backing to achieve every possible success that I can. I started at Streets fresh out of sixth form just over 17 years ago. I’d done my work experience at a local firm of accountants and applied for an apprenticeship because I liked numbers and I didn’t want to go to university. I started out doing my AAT qualification and moved on to gain my ACA qualification. The mix of learning on the job with dedicated breaks for study helped embed the theory of the qualification into the practical aspects of the job. Working in a smaller ‘satellite’ office I gained a lot of experience in many areas of accountancy: audit, tax, bookkeeping and software, payroll, and so I have been able to maximise this varied foundation to my benefit as I progressed further in my career. I have had a fantastic team of mentors over the years who have helped me get to where I am today. I have been encouraged out of my comfort zone with a great support network, not just locally but across the firm as a whole. The technical expertise within the firm is an excellent resource bank to call upon and it’s great to know you can speak to talented individuals on the end of the phone/Teams.
